Process

Proposal

If you are as excited as we are about working together, let’s get a proposal that is created specifically for you. Every couple is unique in their style and vision, so we will tailor a stationery solution to your specific needs. Start by choosing one of our Semi-Custom Suites that reflects your style and we will work around your ideas on paper choices, embellishments and stationery requirements. Please allow 1-3 days to ensure we have gathered all information and make sure no detail is overlooked. Upon approval, a design contract will be signed and we can commence.

Design & Revisions

This is the part where we create the suite to suit your needs and style. This process takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Client communication is key to a quick and smooth turnaround time. We encourage our clients to ensure they try to get as many of the changes done within the first proof so that there is no delay. All Semi-Custom Designs come with three revisions and allow for minor changes of font and texts, ink colour changes and small design element changes.

Production

Once your design is perfect, we will get your invitations into print. This process generally takes anywhere from 2-5 weeks depending on requirements, assembly services (if ordered) and print processes.

Shipping

We ship internationally for some of our suites and selections. Shipping is done usually within 1-7 business days. Rush orders may be possible, but we need to ensure we can meet your deadlines prior to purchase. If you have any questions about timing, please get in touch PRIOR to your purchase.

Printing Methods

Digital Printing

Digital printing is a perfect printing method for using images on invitations. It allows for a nice smooth, flat finish on your stock. This print process can be used for envelope printing and as a more budget-friendly print option.

Foil Printing

Foil printing uses metal plates and a foil sheet to press the finished design onto your chosen stock. This is perfect for text, accents, or anything that is a lined design. If you are looking to add a touch of glass and luxury to your invitations, foil is the way to go.

Letterpress

Letterpress has different variations, but the same principle. Your design is pressed into a thick paper leaving a soft pillow-pressed indention in the stock. Blind letterpress uses no ink, and our standard letterpress can use single colour ink. We can do two-colour letterpress with bespoke designs.

Thermographic

This printing allows for a raised ink surface and provides a tactile experience. This can be done in a single colour and is a nice option for text.

Paper Types

Please note that we have more papers than what is listed here. These are the house stocks we use with semi-custom options. With Bespoke designs, you will have access to many more paper types, including handmade papers, die cuts and more colour options.

118lb Cotton

118lb Cotton comes In your choice of soft white or cotton white and features a slightly textured finish. It is a soft, clean stock with smooth qualities.

Double Thick

Double-thick is our cotton stock but duplexed to create a thicker paper. This is our standard with all letterpress printing. This stock will allow for a more “pressed” impression in the paper when using letterpress.

Deckle Edge

Deckle edge is a beautiful way to finish your invitations. This cannot be applied to our double-thick paper as this process is done by hand to create textured edges similar to handmade paper if you want a different feel to your invitations.

Envelope Colours

Handmade Paper Colours

Our handmade paper options are available with our Bespoke invitation collections. Handmade papers may also be purchased on their own for additional projects if needed.

Ink and Foil Colours

Though we try to be as accurate as possible, colors may vary based on the monitors from printed versions. A few things to consider when printing; digital, letterpress and thermographic inks are not opaque. For best results choose a color that is darker than the paper. White ink is opaque and will show up well on all dark colors.

Our ink colors are available for our digital designs and letterpress. White ink will be used on darker envelopes.
We do offer metallic inks through our Bespoke design.

Ribbon Colours

Curated to suit our suites perfectly, our ribbon choices come in varying widths and a variety of colors. We carry colors that are also produced to match our premium wax seal collections. Cotton, Sand, Peach, Dusk, Dove, Slate and Charcoal have corresponding premium wax seals.

Other options for our silk ribbons include velvet silk and classic silk. Trim is our thinnest width in ribbon and is perfect for a delicate touch to your suite.

Wax Seal Designs

Our designs are hand-drawn and designed with various themes in mind. For a small investment, we are able to create a unique design if you require that extra special touch. Design styles are listed and we do add designs to our collection often.
